I'm not entirely sure how that's happened, but here we are already revealing the third winner of our prestigious #gameoftheday award for June. Click here to go to our #gameoftheday hub where you can find all the titles that have so far received the accolade.

What's the point in all of this? Well as far as we're concerned here at Pocket Gamer, it's our job to make sure you're always playing the very finest mobile games - and since there are so many of them, there's a chance you've missed one. The #gameoftheday is here to make sure that doesn't happen.

Today's pick is the gory puzzler Slayaway Camp, and we'll tell you more about it in a few sentences. While you're here though, smash a click on this here link and check out our reviews section, which is full of our opinion on the latest mobile and portable games.Slayaway CampWhere other games are about stopping the bad guys, Slayaway Camp is all about embracing the carnage of the dark side. You're playing a hockey mask-clad villain who's out to kill unsuspecting teens at the titular camp.

The game plays out like one of Square Enix's Go games, with you moving your killer around a board in an attempt to kill everyone you can. There are police that'll try and stop you, and traps you can spring to cause even grislier deaths. And trust us when we say the deaths here are already super grisly.

Dr. Mario isn't a real doctor. He's a quack. Surely everyone knows this by now. Why do we let him get away with his medical practices when it's clear that he's a fraud?

-ahem- Apologies. Dr. Mario may be a quack, but his games are pretty decent, so it's a nice surprise that Nintendo's next mobile game is going to be Dr. Mario World. A whole world of Dr. Mario! He's gonna Tornado Spin your ass in every corner of the globe. (Little Smash Bros. humour for you there, hope you liked it.)

We don't know anything about Dr. Mario World right now, other than the fact that it's being developed in partnership with LINE and NHN Entertainment. LINE being one of the biggest messaging apps in Japan, and NHN having developed a wide range of licensed games before now. So that's some decent pedigree behind it, at least.

The doctor is in! Mario puts on the white coat once again in the mobile game Dr. Mario World, targeting an early summer 2019 global release.? https://t.co/HUMHz58DzR pic.twitter.com/7w9yj9uJ80— Nintendo of Europe (@NintendoEurope) February 1, 2019
But what kind of game will it be? Is it going to replicate the old Tetris-esque gameplay of the original Dr. Mario? How would that even work in a free-to-play way? Or is it going to be something completely different, like a Candy Crush clone or something? Only time will tell.

What we do know is this - Nintendo really needs to get itself back in gear with its mobile games. The last release was Dragalia Lost, and that still hasn't launched everywhere yet. Mario Kart Tour has just been delayed into 2019. The only game people are still playing is Fire Emblem Heroes, which is now so impenetrable that I won't touch it with a barge pole. We're here waiting for Nintendo's big mobile push, and it never seems to come. Sort it out!

We'll keep you posted as we learn more about Dr. Mario World and any other big Nintendo mobile games in the future. Maybe even that rumoured Zelda game will finally get announced. But probably not. Say tuned to PG.com either way.

Leonardo's Cat has an interesting mix of themes, artists, and voice actor. It's coming to iOS soon.

It's a side-scrolling platformer that has you playing as the cat of famous polymath Leonardo da Vinci. Patrick Stewart - yes, the guy in Star Trek and X-Men - voices da Vinci in the game.

Leonardo's Cat also has the talented hand of Michael Frith working on it. If you didn't know, he helped to create The Muppets and Fraggle Rock.

Quite a bit of talent, then, and especially for a small mobile platformer, don't you think?

The game's story goes that da Vinci's latest invention, the Automata, has been stolen by Michelangelo.

"Oh, I know the Blythe stubbornness," groaned Anne. "But don't do this solely on your own responsibility. Consult Doctor Dave."
